[1] She is most well-known for her role as Kate Capshaw, an American actress who retired. Her most well-known role is her portrayal of Willie Scott, an American nightclub performer and singer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), directed by her husband Steven Spielberg. Since then, she has appeared in Dreamscape (1984), Power (1986), SpaceCamp (1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (1994), Just Cause (1995) as well as The Love Letter (1999). Capshaw is a portrait artist who has been displayed in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw, was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), who was a beauty professional and travel agent as well as Edwin Leon Nail, an employee at the airline. At the age of five she moved to St. Louis and graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw earned a degree in education from the University of Missouri, where she was a part of Alpha Delta Pi. She was the special education instructor at Southern Boone High School Ashland, Missouri and Rock Bridge High School Columbia, Missouri.
