Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington has worked as a journalist, TV personality writer, philanthropist, and philanthropist for more than ten years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. After moving into England from Greece at the age of 16, she received a MA with Economics from Cambridge University. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it before the age of 21. Then she became a conservative syndicated writer after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a year after, she created an online platform for voice which offered critiques of the political landscape. Her celebrity status helped her to get a number of prominent contributors to publish their thoughts about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna's popularity was first noticed in 2003 when she was a candidate for an independent for the California recall election to succeed the then governor Davis. Alongside this, she led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as the most influential women in the media, achieving 12th position on their list. The same year Guardian listed her on the top 100 of media lists. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her head of its media division that also includes additional AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli, who are both journalists and consultants in management. While she was close with father, her relationship with her mother shaped the remainder of her life. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. When she was in her 16th year she travelled to England to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. While in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the colleges debating societies, and eventually was its first foreign female president. In 1972 she graduated with an advanced degree in Economics. Her career as an anchor and reporter started after her graduation. She also appeared alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editorial assistance.
