Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She's the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news outlet has a TV personality author, author and charitable donor. Originating from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family at the age of 16. In Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. At 21 she became head of the famous debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student to do so. Following graduation, she left her mark as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice platform that offered critical observations about the current political climate. The celebrity she enjoyed helped her to convince several stars to voice their views about current affairs, political and culture. Arianna was famous when she made the decision in 2003 to run as an Independent Candidate for the California Recall election to succeed the Governor Davis. Alongside this she was the leader of the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. She was named one of the Most Influential Women in Media according to Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th spot on that list. That same year Guardian listed her among the Top 100 Media List. AOL, Inc. made her the President of their media group in 2011 following the bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included the other AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos, a journalist and management consultant. Though she was close with her father, it was her relationship with her mother that shaped her character. Through her early times, she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which she is still well-known. When she was 16 she emigrated into the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university she joined the Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first woman and the only president from outside the country. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of master's in Economics. Following the graduation ceremony, she became a journalist and TV host. Also, she appeared on the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from him.
