Kelly Clarkson was an American artist and songwriter who was the American sweetheart after she took home American Idol in the first series. Her win was not only an enormous success however, it also secured her a recording contract for multiple albums from RCA Records 19 Recordings & S Records. She has since released numerous studio albums. Three of them reached the US Billboard 200 chart, however, others narrowly missed the mark. She's one of the biggest artists that have sprung from the American Idol series. After achieving success, she experimented with different topics and styles of music, often co-writing her songs in accordance of her own feelings. As a result of her uniqueness and skill as a performer, she was praised by the media and received a number of important prizes. She has been the most notable winner of the Grammy Award three times. In addition to her musical career, she has also appeared in movies and television shows. She is also the author of the children's novel River Rose and the Magical Lullaby as well as a member of numerous charitable organisations.
