Fawn Mckay

Fawn McCay Brodie was birthplace at Ogden Utah September 15, 1915. Fawn McKay, raised in the Mormon Church's First Family, employed her creative talents and skills in researching to produce an intriguing psycho-historical biography of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945 with the title: No Man is a Master of My History, she used both. The title comes from the funeral sermon of Joseph Smith, founding father of the Church of Latter-Day Saints. The preacher shocked the audience when he said telling his audience: "You don't even know my name. You have never known the depths of my soul." There is no one who has ever heard of my life. I'm not able to tell my story. Wrote the 29-year old Fawn: Since that moment of candor at least three-score writers have picked up the challenge. Some have attempted to establish a medical diagnosis. The documents aren't insufficient however they do have a lot of contradictions. To assemble the documents -- to separate first hand sources from a third-party plagiarism and to then put Mormon and non Mormon accounts together into a reliable mosaic isn't an simple task. This is both exciting, as well as instructive. This is the kind of task to which Fawn Brodie committed herself professionally. Thaddeus Stevens. Stevens is immortalized in her works and the fruit of her research. The DevilDrives. The Life of Sir Richard Burton (1967) Thomas Jefferson. A personal biography of Richard Nixon (1974) as and posthumously Richard Nixon.
